Toccoa...Go Tell 2013...Week #1 and Training
Well, here I am on the eve of the last part day of camp (tomorrow there is a meeting where campers and youth leaders are given an opportunity to give a testimony on what God has done in their lives this week)...Hmmm, where to begin...well, last week we had an awesome week of training and prep for the 1st week of camp. On Saturday we went into Helen, GA, and went tubing down the Chattahoochee River and had a pretty quiet and relaxing day. The next day we went off to church. Got a bite to eat at a Chinese Restaurant. About 12:30pm we started unpacking and setting up production with a group of awesome interns and production people...
Then on Monday CAMP BEGAN!! I am not gonna get all the details in on every day, however let me give you a snapshot of a day like today!
This morning I got up at about 7:45am. I ate 2 meal bars for breakfast. I then went to a morning devotional with the Go Tell interns (there were 4 praise songs, a testimony, and then we went over various things concerning the day). We then went to Breakout groups where the Interns lead a group and have an ice breaker and then teach. The aim of this Breakout Group is to teach the campers how to share their story (or testimony in the traditional sense). We also explained the importance of their story and how it has power. Today various ones in my Breakout group had the opportunity to share their stories, this time was so special.
After Breakout time there is lunch and then from 1-5 Rec time. Today I hung out at the Lake and helped out there. For the latter part of Rec Time I helped out with canoes (helped people get in...taught some people how to paddle...). Then we had dinner...and then on to the evening service where I run a camera for production. Let me just say that tonight's session was SO POWERFUL. Josh McDowell told us his story. He has such an intense story and God has got him through so much. For the altar call tonight what he encouraged people to do was for those who are saved to ask their unsaved friend if they want to go down to the altar together. Man, it brought me to tears to see friends going to the altar. A true friend supports in every area!
Well, here I am up at the girls dorm making sure guys don't go down their hall. Good night my friends. Please pray for strength for the interns. Also, pray for supernatural patience, and love to flow out of us! Love you all!

Police Academy
:-) Like my post title? So, today, got up around 7:25am, had breakfast, the group got together and had a short Bible study, and then we headed out. We actually went to this place where Police and others are trained. We began our adventure with some unity building/ice breaker games (Never Have I Ever was one game, we did this game which worked on our unity and thinking skills and various one ended up carrying 2 people a short distance [I think I can explain this game better in person, lol], and we did a trust fall).
We then went into EXTREME MODE. We had training and then repelled down a 30' Wall. We then proceeded to the firing range where we got to shoot an AR-15 :-) So yeah, super awesome day.
Then we ate at Wendy's...had more training...prepared...met some new interns (Shelby and Aubry)...talked in the coffee shop...ummmm, breathed...listening to Skillet ;-) Ok, enough Adam! Good night my friends! Having a blast! Thanks again for all the prayers and support!

Adventures in Traveling and Night #1 of Training
Here I am sitting in my room in Toccoa, Georgia. Had a good trip today :-) Got here safely to Toccoa with a couple small incidents. Passed two OVERSIZED LOADs just in time. Right after I passed the first OVERSIZED LOAD they had to take up the whole 2 lanes of highway because they were going over a bridge. The second one had to get in my lane right after I passed them because a semi was trying to get on the highway.
Then as I was driving along on the highway I saw a little baby doe right next to me. As I watched the doe from my rearview mirror I saw her run onto the highway right in front of a semi and proceed to stumble to her knees. The semi miraculously slowed down and didn't hit her (and forced a truck behind the semi to drive on the rumble strip).
Lastly, as I was driving it sounded like my relay for my blinker was freaking out. I would put my blinker on and then after I turned it off I could hear the blinker relay keep going (sounds like the blinker is blinking still) so I didn't know if my blinkers were going to town and flashing on and off as I drove down the highway. Thankfully when I got to my destination I determined that my blinkers will only come on when I tell them to and not even if the relay freaks out.
So, I got to Toccoa. I then went with the group of interns that are here (they are mostly vet interns right now, most of the the newbys get here on Wednesday ) to Pizza Hut for dinner. We then went back to the Georgia Baptist Convention Center for a bit of training and vision casting. One thing we are going to work on as interns is learning to share the story of our journey with Christ since people are so interested in personal stories (just look at the popular shows in TV today, the thing that draws people to Duck Dynasty, The Voice, America's Got Talent, etc... is the stories of those involved with these shows).
Well, I am gonna get going. Got breakfast tomorrow at 8am and then we are gonna meet up at 9am and I think (not 100% sure) we are then going to be doing some group unity building things (like a ropes course or something).
Thanks again for all your support and prayers!

T minus 2 Days :-)
Well, I am working on doing better on making posts on here. Feel free to message me and remind me to put up posts during this summer adventure I am going on (if you have no idea what I am talking about please refer to past posts!). So, working on getting things tied up before I head out Monday (aiming to leave home at 8am) . Today I met with the youth praise team (the one I am worship leader for) and worked on getting them comfortable with not having me play piano and leading. The praise team is really taking the reigns of the praise and worship and I know 100% that they are ready to lead without me :-) I have also paid my last two bills that will be due when I am gone...and cleaned my car...so, what do I need to do next? Clean my room, pack...and pray...Yup. Better get going. Talk to ya'll soon!

Go Tell Ministry this Summer 2013!!
With Go Tell in 2010 in Costa Rica
With the Kid's Camp, Intern helpers, and the Ryde On group(they do tubing behind boatsfor the campers on the lake) in 2011
Chilling with some of the Interns last summer in a Coffee Shop near where we do camps
Dear
Friends,
Just
wanted to let you know a little bit about whats going on with my life
and fill you in on what I will be doing for ministry this summer.
Well, last May I graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor of
Arts in Theater. Last summer, after graduating, I helped teach Drama
at a three day day camp. I then headed up Kid's Camp down in Toccoa,
Georgia, with Go Tell Ministries. I am currently home in Northern
Virginia with my parents and have been working regularly with my
father in electrical. I have been praying about what God would have
me do next in my life. I believe that at this time He wants me here
at home. I am currently becoming more involved with a local youth
group in town. Also, this summer I will once again minister with Go
Tell Ministries (This will be my 4th summer working with Go Tell).
Let
me tell you how this summer with Go Tell Ministries will break down.
June 18th I will drive about 500 miles to
Toccoa, Georgia, where training will happen. I will then work at two
youth Camps (the first is from June 24th -28th
, the 2nd one if from June 28th
-July 3rd ). Then we will travel about
790 miles to Nacogdoches, TX. July 8th we will
be doing a week of camp there at the Stephen F. Austin State
University. The summer with Go Tell will end with a week mission trip
to the Dominican Republic from July 15th -22nd
..
I
am so excited to see what God is going to do through Go Tell
Ministries this summer. Please be praying that God really works in
the lives of all the young people we come into contact this summer.
Also, please pray that God protects us as we travel this summer (I
will be driving about 2,580 miles this summer!). I have no more left
to raise for the mission trip!! :-)
If
you have any questions, please feel free to email me at
Aparker3@liberty.edu. Or you can find me on Facebook under the name:
Adam David Parker.
God
bless you all!
