Interns and Friends,

Here I am in Room 5105 and it is 12:35am. When you read this I will most likely be on my way home to Browntown, Virginia which is about 8 1/2 hrs away (however, since it is the day before the 4th of July it may take me longer, lol). So, I just want to say that I was SO BLESSED to work with each and every one of you all. I so appreciate how each of you are always so willing to jump in and work, whether it be on the skit, production, counseling, working with kids, etc...you guys are all on the right direction when it comes to being servants like Christ! I have had such an amazing time to get to know you all, man, you guys are just AMAZING!!! God go before you all in the ministry here in Georgia, in Texas, and then Costa Rica! EXPECT GREAT THINGS FROM GOD!!! :-) Also, remember, this summer will be over in the blink of an eye, make the most of it! Please be praying for me as I head on down to Guadalajara, Mexico on Wednesday. Pray that the love of Christ will radiate out of me :-p Ok, I better get packing! Love you guys!

Hello Family and Friends,

I just wanted to share with you some about what God is directing me to do for ministry this summer. First of all, as many of you know God has given me the opportunity to do ministry through missions trips over the years (Japan for a month in '03, India for a month in '04, Peru for two months in '07, Peru for a month and then Argentina for a month in '08, and then Costa Rica for a week last summer '10). During these mission trips I would have the opportunity to minister to people of all ages. One thing I noticed was that I felt like I could connect with the children and really enjoyed ministering, playing with them, or just holding them and letting them somehow feel the love of God.

Well, this last summer I interned with a group called Go Tell Ministries. As I was preparing for the summer I got a call and was asked if I would be willing to work with a Kid's Camp that Go Tell was pioneering. I thought I could help out for at least a week. However, after going through the first week with the Kid's Camp I decided to do another week. I found that I could really connect with these kids. I saw how much they love drama and fun voices that I do. Also, I got to see first hand God softening the heart of a young girl. I met her at the begining of one of the weeks and went to give her a high five but she said she didn't high five guys. I then asked her if she smiled, and she said no! I then told her that by the end of the week she was going to smile, and she DID! By the end of the week if I only looked at her she would break into a grin. I feel as if through these two weeks of working with Go Tell's Kid's Camp really showed me that part of God's plan for me is working with children.

Continuing down the road of Children's Ministry, this semester I took a course in Children's Ministry where I feel like God pretty much verified to me that Children's Ministry will be one of the ways that He will be using me to expand His Kingdom. One thing that I kept thinking about during last summer's ministry as well as during this years Children's Ministry course is the verse where Jesus says, " Let the children come to me, and do not stop them, because the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these." At another part of the Bible Jesus even connects the Kingdom of God with children's faith, "you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."

This now brings us to this summer. First of all I will be volunteering with Go Tell Ministries (http://www.gotellministries.com/camps/kidscamp.html) this summer. On June 14th I will drive down to the Georgie Baptist Convention Center in Toccoa, GA, where I will go through training with the other Interns till June 19th. Then I will work once again with the Kid's Camp during the weeks of June 20-24 and June 27th-July 1st. After ministry in Toccoa, GA I will then drive home to Northern VA (Browntown) and will be home for 3 days. I will then head to Reagan Airport in the morning of July 6th. I will then fly to Guadalajara, Mexico, where I am volunteering at an orphanage that a friend of mine from my '07 mission trip to Peru helped to start (http://laolacasahogar.com/). I will be volunteering at this orphanage till July 27th. I am so excited to see what God does both in the lives of these children that I will be ministering to as well as in my life.

Please pray that God protects me over these many miles as I travel and pray that both myself and all those I work with are effective tools in God's hands this summer. Nathan's Funeral and Visiting Hours

GLOUCESTER: Nathaniel James Holscher, 18, stepped into eternity on January 23rd. Born in Beverly on January 5, 1993, he was the son of Roxanne Dora (Sandford) Holscher and James Herman Holscher. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Jacob Herman Holscher and Walker Harriman Holscher; his stepmother Melissa Holscher; maternal grandparents, Leonard and Jean Sandford; paternal grandparents, Herman and Carol Holscher; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Nathan was on the Shark’s swim team for several years. He ran track for O’Maley Middle School and came in first place many times for the 400. He loved to work out at the YMCA and thought it was fun to compete on the treadmill against those next to him. He also worked as a lifeguard at the Sterling YMCA.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday afternoon in the Community Church of East Gloucester, 7 Chapel Street, Gloucester at 3 p.m. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester from 2 – 5 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.

Fly to Jesus

Woke up Sunday quite late, slept in till like 1pm. I had woken up the day before at like 7am. So, Sunday seemed to begin like any other: got some energy drink mix, checked my phone, saw I had a voice mail and that I had missed some calls. No big deal. I then proceeded to listen to my voice mail. It was from my brother Matt in Massachusetts. He said that my cousin Nathan (he's just turned 18) had just died in an accident. My brother didn't want me to hear about this on Facebook. At first it did not really hit me. Distance seems to make disasters like this not real, you know? I later sat at my computer and started thinking about Nathan and tears came to my eyes (even as I write this tears come...I can't imagine the pain my Aunt Roxy, Uncle Jim, Nathan's brothers Jacob and Walker are feeling, as well as Nathan's grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends are all feeling). Nathan was my first first cousin. I remember we were quite close when he was very young (like 3,4). As you can see in the photo attached to this post I really enjoyed playing with him at my grandma Sandfords in New Hampshire. Nathan grew up to be quite a free spirit which would get him in trouble at times...I remember when I was attending Bible School in New Hampshire there was at least one time when I was asked to keep an eye on Nathan as he attended the Convention going on at the Bible School(he stayed in my room and I would sleep by the door to make sure he didn't sneak out). I am so thankful that I got to spend that time with my cousin. Another special memory comes from when I was at my grandparents in New Hampshire and Nathan wanted to go for a run (he really loved running) so I went with him. I think I got to our relatives house (the E. Sandfords) and then turned around and headed back to our grandparents. He beat me and I don't think he was even winded. The last time I saw him was when we were at my Uncle Phils cabin in Maine (the summer of 2009). I took him, my older brother Dana, and Dana's son. We ended up getting a couple of movies from Red Box: Gran Torino and The Knowing...we actually ended up watching both...

So, now here I am, my oldest 1st cousin gone, just like that. Why didn't I get to know him more? Why didn't I ever call him? Spend more time with him? I can't do anything about that, I have to learn my lessons and move forward treasuring the times I did have with Nathan. I know with all my heart I will see him again (my dad led him to Christ and has the date written in his Bible). And right now Nathan is having so much fun in the arms of God. May we take this life that Nathan lost so quickly to inspire us to live life like each day is our last.Love those around you with the love of Christ, no matter what, life is too short for anger or hatred (Jesus was such an example of a life with Unconditional Love and even in His deep pain, He loved!).

I want to end this note with a prayer for those hurting as a result of this tragedy (especially Nathan's family)

Dear Jesus Christ,
First of all, thank you so much for the opportunity to be a part of Nathan's life, thanks for all the precious memories. Right now, dear God, I pray You wrap Nathan's family in Your arms of love and comfort them somehow. God you understand their pain, You lost Your oldest son tragically as well and through Your loss, Nathan's family will see him again, comfort his family with this fact. And Lord, I pray that out of this pain You somehow bring life. Comfort all the friends and relatives that are grieving at this time help them all to know You are there with them in all this, Jesus said, "Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age". Lord, help us! I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

I miss you

God's Loving Arms

God is our father. The Bible says that we may come boldly to the Throne of Grace (the presence of God). I see in my mind's eye myself laying prostrate before God as He sits on His throne. He, who is my Abba Father, then beckons me to come to Him. So, knowing my state as a man who has failed so much I slowly make my way up to the One Who has never sinned. I stand before Him as a child who has been caught doing something wrong (He sees all that I do, all my sins He knows). He then lifts up my head with His hand and gazes into my eyes with His. His eyes that saw the creation. Those pure eyes that look right into your soul. He says to me, "I know what you have done My child, all the times you have fallen and given in to the world, flesh, and devil, I was right there waiting for you to ask for My help. Do not fear, My child, you have been paid for! I gave My life for you. I LOVE YOU!" When He says those three words it cuts into my heart and I fall to the floor bawling like a child. I know my actions over the years have hurt my Savior. I know that these sins have also hurt those around me.

As I lay there I hear the voice of my Father speaking to me. "My child, I paid the price on the cross, I can make you whole. I am making you new every day. Come up here, onto my lap". I look up to my Abba with tear blurred vision and slowly raise my body that is weak from emotion and I struggle to climb on to the lap of my Savior and I feel His strong arms help me to His lap. He then tells me to rest in Him. I lay my head on His chest and I hear His heart beat. With every beat of His heart its as if I hear Him telling me, "I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you." And I sigh. The weight of my sins, the hurt in my life, all the pain from life fall away from me as I hear over and over, "I love you, I love you, I love you." As I lay against the chest of my Father I look down to the hands that are holding me against Him and I see the nail scars. Those scars tell me, "I love you, I went through the greatest pain in the world so that I may hold you and heal you and give you a life of freedom." I then look up and see the scars on my Savior's head where the crown of thorns had pieced His skin. He tells me that He bore that crown of thorns for me. Overwhelmed with this love of my Father I hug Him and as I do I feel the many scars on His back and start weeping. In my mind I see Him before the Romans, shuddering as He takes the blows from their whips. I see the blood flowing from His back and yet as He looks up from the whipping block He has no anger or remorse, only Love.

I hear Him whisper into my ear, "I took each of those blows for you my beloved child." I then say, "I am so unworthy of Your love, so many times I have sinned against You willfully, how can you still love me even when I mess up over and over and over"-Here He breaks in with a strong voice and says, "Hush! You want to know why I love you so? Its because you are my child. I want to be with you all the time and have an intimate relationship with you. I want to walk with you in the cool of the day like I did with my first child Adam. I long with My all to get that back." As He speaks I hear His voice fill with emotion and tears start spilling from His eyes. He continues, "Sometimes I am so overcome with love for my creation I just cant contain it. My love for mankind was shown when I died on the cross so that they may be with me forever. You have no idea the joy I get when a person decides that they want me to be part of their life and start a relationship with me. When that happens I begin spending all my time with them. I am always with them, I will never leave! I cry when they cry. When they fall I stand there eager to help them up when they ask. My child, there is nothing greater than my Love."

My Father then stops and looks intently at my eyes. "You know My love, My love is in you. Would you please tell people about My love and how I showed it on the cross?" Normally I would have turned in shame and said that I was unworthy to tell other's about His love, however, since my sins had been washed away by His blood and because I knew His spirit was in me and making me new everyday, with Isaiah I say, "HERE I AM LORD, SEND ME!" (Isaiah 6).

Go Tell Summer 2010 part 4

Well my friends, on July 10th I made about a 4hr trip over some crazy mountainous roads with my friend Timmy to West Virginia Wesleyan College. Upon arriving we had a tour of the campus (it was the first time Go Tell had done a camp there). We then went to our dorms (the dorm room I ended up in had a trash bag right in the door and it stank...oh well), I was in an apartment with Shane, Josiah W., and Timmy (when we get together there are some interesting experiences like spontaneous singing and laughing :-p). A bit later we helped ATF bring in equipment into the Wesley Chapel (it had pews and is quite traditional) and when we were done it looked AWESOME!

Monday all the Campers (over 200) had arrived by 4pmish. That evening our camp pastor, Jordan Easley, spoke, and Unhindered led worship (they were there all week!). The next day (Tuesday) I got up around 7:30, went to breakfast and at 8:15am went to the Intern meeting in a room in the chapel. I then went to a Breakout session (its a bible lesson that Quinn Cole led). I had to leave early because I was doing the voice for the Heart Skit (we did it for the 10:30 service). That afternoon I was the ref for a dodge ball tournament. The winners of the tournament played the Interns (we won). Then we had dinner and then Adrian Despres spoke (check out www.adriandespres.com). Wednesday was fairly similar to Tuesday. For the Wednesday evening service we had the opportunity to do the King Skit (I was the king, which was fun!). Ergun Caner spoke that night...the following night my buddy Rick Stanley shared his story (Elvis is his step-brother).

Then Friday was the day to break down everything. We packed ATF up and friends headed out. That evening a group of us (Jenny, Sarah H., Sarah Q., Timmy, Shane, Josiah, and myself ate at CJ Maggies and then everyone but Jenny went and saw Inception, excellent movie!). Saturday I packed up, ate at McDs with everyone mentioned above but Jenny and then headed home to northernish VA (got home at about 3pm, it was about a 3 1/2 hr trip).

What great things God allowed me to be a part of this last summer. I was able to aid in molding the lives of some very impressionable and precious kids (with Kids Camp in Taccoa, GA). I also started friendships with young people in Liberty and West Virginia. I also had an amazing opportunity to use my schooling and the passion God has put in my heart for Drama Ministry. This summer has helped to solidify my desire to do Drama Ministry and helped me see what God's vision for it is. My prayer is that God takes all that happened this summer through these camps and causes them to last. Lord, take the seeds we sowed into these young people and youth workers and may they be nourished and help them to grow into something SO BEAUTIFUL that people can't but help see Jesus Christ through them! In the name of Jesus Christ our Saviour, AMEN!!! (and now, on to Costa Rica for a week beginning this Tuesday...please be praying for us!)

Hey all, I know it has been quite a while since an update, here it is. So, I was in Toccoa, Georgia, for two weeks and I had the opportunity to work in the Kids Camp (the kids are about from 3rd grade to 5th grade). This was actually the first time Go Tell has done a Kid's Camp which is so cool! I had such a BLAST with them! As many of you know I enjoy making different voices and the kids loved it! There was about 23 kids the first week and about 27 the second week.

Here's a quick glimpse of a typical day in the life of Kid's Camp:
About 7:30am get up
Get breakfast before 8:10am
At 8:10am be in the Intern Meeting(also, possibly meet with the Kid's Camp staff), we go over whats happening that day
9am be in the basement of the dining hall (this is the "Headquarters" of Kid's Camp) and have a time of worship with the weeks' worship leader (we had Ryan Wingo and Brett Younkers) and then the camp pastor would share a message
10am-11am we would head out to the Rec Field where we had Inflatables set up (refer to my Photos)...the kids also had various other things to do at times like water games...tennis...football...nature hikes...etc...during this time.
11:30am-12:10pm we had lunch
12:15pm we would split up into our Small Groups and have a time of talking about the Bible and things of God. We also would hand out and play a game.
1:30pm-3:30pm We went down to the water...the kids could swim, go out and float on tubes, canoe, paddle boat, climb the Iceberg, go down the 150 foot Wet Willy Slide, and if they were going into 6th grade they could go out on Tubes behind boats with Ryde On.
3:30pm-4:30pm the kids could go clean up and have a break
4:30pm was dinner
5:15pm we have Praise time...then there is a message shared with the kids
6-8 we play games and there is a snack sometime at this time as well
And then at 9pm the kids leave...Phewwwwwwwwww

So, as you can see we spent a lot of time with these kids! We spent about 37 1/2 hours with these kids each week. I really grew to love these kids. At the beginning of one week I met a kid named Katie. I went to give her a high five and she just looked at me and said something like she didn't give guys high fives. She looked so serious as well. I then looked at her and told her that by the end of the week she would be smiling. And sure enough, by the end of the week I would just have to look at her in a serious face and she would break into a grin :-) It like Jesus said in the Bible, "Let the little children come to me and do not forbid them for such is the kingdom of heaven"!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, here I am now at Liberty University where we just finished up our 1 week Go Tell Camp here. We had Kristian Stanfill as our worship leader. The Interns would have a meeting in the dining hall at 8 in the morning. We would then go to a group from a church and play a game and then one of the interns (Benji did it in mine) would lead a discussion/teaching time). We would then head over to the Schilling Center where the Camp Pastor (this week was Christian Newsome) would bring a message. We then had lunch and then Rec Time till about 4 or 5. Then dinner...then evening service (we heard from Rick Stanley, Adrian Despres, Clayton King, and Tony Nolan this week)...

Go Tell Ministries pt. 2 (written yesterday)

Hey folks, I am just gonna go over some interesting things that have been happening these last two days here at Taccoa as we prepare for the about 800 students who will be coming here next week. Well, yesterday (the 17th) we worked on the Merchandise table (brought in the Merchandise, rolled t-shirts, helped out where needed)...we also went over schedules...got to know each other (I am LOVING these interns and leaders, they are STINKIN AWESOME!!)...We've had some amazing meals (chicken, pizza, noodles, etc...).

Today we worked on getting games together (the Ninja game, the trashcan game, and others...if you have no clue about the games I am talking about ask me sometime and I'll explain). Us guys also got together and talked about relationships and what we want in a spouse (some of what we talked about will be shared with the girls during the week.

Toccoa, Georgia...I'm HERE!!!

Well my friends, on Tuesday, June 15th I arose to the sound of my alarm and then my radio at 5:30am. I then proceeded to eat breakfast through a fog of sleepiness. An energy drink aided me in getting through that fog...I then bade my parents farewell and embarked on my journey of approximately 511mile which supposedly takes 9hrs and 1 min (according to Google Maps ;-). Between radio, Cds, and Adventure in Odyssey I made it to the Georgia Baptist Conference Center at about 4:30pm (oh, and I got this cool sunburn on my left arm due to the fact that that was the side the sun was on for hours...I also didn't use my AC because when I do a wet floor results from the perspiration, and WOAH it was one HOT Ride :-p). After getting here to GBCC in a daze I kinda rested/unpacked...At about 8pm we got together as a group of Interns and I played piano for praise and then we prayed. After this I went with a group and we ventured out in the Thunder Storm to Wal Mart. Not much happened after that.

June 16th Morning:

This morning I awoke at about 8. At 8:35 I headed to a breakfast of biscuits and gravy, sausage links, and eggs. Us Interns then met for a time of Prayer, Praise, and my friend Sabby led us in a Devotion. She spoke about Isaiah 55:8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith Jehovah." The basic idea is that God has more in store for us in this summer than we can ever imagine, so be ready! We then got into small groups and shared a bit...We then split into teams (mine was Purple and Green) and we had a variation on the Greatest Race to get us familiarized with the campus. Through a lot of sweat, running, and calorie burning, my team....WON :-p Yeah...And now I have about a 30 min. break till we start setting up everything (Inflatables, T-shirts, etc...).

The afternoon:

-A guy with a ministry in Recreation spoke to us (I think his name is Rob?) and shared what the plan is for rec (it will be set up in TRACKS...some activities are: GPS adventure things, beach volleyball, wet willy slide, inflatables, drama, craftiness, sports)...also, at one point a pro tennis player will be coming for a bit to teach people how to play tennis...there will also be water skiing lessons and tubing...

-Another thing is that some of us from Liberty or about to go to Liberty will at times be manning a booth that has applications and interest cards...

Summer Ministry 2010 Update!!!

Hello there family and friends!

I thought I would share with you more details on what God has led me to this summer with Go Tell Ministries.

I will be driving down to Georgia Baptist Conference Center in Toccoa, Georgia, for the beginning of this program on June 15th. I will stay in Georgia for two weeks and work in youth camps. I will then drive up to Liberty University where we will have another youth camp for a week. We will then proceed to Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, West Virginia, where we will finish up the summer camp part of the summer (if my calculations are correct, I will be driving about 1,253 miles). I will probably then drive home on July 16th and stay there till July 20th . On July 20th I will fly out of Dulles down to Atlanta and then on to Costa Rica for a week mission trip with Go Tell.

As you can see there is going to be a lot of traveling as well as ministry, please pray for protection over the miles. Please also pray for both myself and the other workers as we are used by God this summer to share His truths with teens and Costa Ricans.

What has Adam David Parker been up to?? Well, let me tell ya!

So, about 1 and 1/2 weeks after my summer mission trip to Peru and Argentina I began a new adventure with College. I started my Freshman year at Liberty University (I am one of the youngest Freshman being 23 and all ;-). I am majoring in Theater with a Specialization in Drama Ministry.

The first week at college was so FUN! A friend mentioned that it reminded them of summer camp. There was this BIG Block Party (Rush of Fools was there)...and fun thing to do...then the Classes began (Dun, Dun, DUN!!!). The first day we go over the Syllabus which basically tells us what we are gonna cover in class, not bad, then assignments start to come :-( Oh well, its not too bad, didn't have to do too many all nighters...But while in college I got in this bad habit of staying up in to all hours of the night 2am, 3am, 4am,etc...but the funny thing is that my body handled well. My first Semester I took GNED 101 (it basically teaches world issues and has us determine why we believe what we believe...I would have this class Mon., Wed., and Fri. at 8:50am....my professor, Lew Weider, was excellent, Fun and full of energy, ADD, all good mixtures for a morning class!!)...

On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday we something called Convocation at 10am. At Convo we'll have various speakers come and speak to us (imagine that!!)...We've had Mike Huckabee (excellent speaker), Martin Luther King Jr's daughter...my favorite was this short African American lady named Thelma Whelms who had a lot of spunk and shared the truth of Gods word...A note for those of you who may one day have a chance to speak to College Students: 1.) Be Interesting, enjoy what you are sharing! 2.)Never whistle at the college students, you will quickly lose their respect 3.) Remember, you are speaking to students who are 17 and older, what would THEY be interested in learning?? 4.) Stories and Jokes are GREAT!! 5.) Also, incorporate multi-media (videos and stuff)

My first semester I also took English 101, uggghh, we had assignments practically every day...then I had a Basic Acting class which totally shared how to act in a way that normal Highschool acting class doesn't teach...it was a growing experiance for me as an actor...I learned that I really need to relax when I have opportunities to act, also I need to do proper research for my characters to make my acting and movement, etc...all believable...Lets see, I also took a Theater History 211 class which was interesting, had an opportunity to be in a Acting Experiment in which we had to come up with an original script and had to incorporate ideas from what we had been studying in class...My group did a Shakespearean-like short skit and since in Shakspeare's day the men played all the roles, I had the opportunity to be a woman...hmmm. I also took a class called Evangelism...

Well, I passed that semester with All A's and 1 B, yeah!!

This last semester I took GNED 102 (with the same professor), I took a class called Voice for the Stage in which we learn how to use our voice with its maximum potential, I also had English 102 in which we read poems, dramas, and short fiction, it was interesting...Took Math 115 which touched on all types of Math...took the second part of Theater History (212)...and I took Spanish 101 ( I have taken Spanish before which helped me stay on top of things in college spanish)...thankfully I got all A's and 1 B again this year, horrah!!!

Now I want to talk about campus life...I love the People!!! My hall is 26-2...my RAs (the bosses of the hall) are lovingly called Chich and Fish...my SLDs (Adam and Adam)...and then you have Prayer Leaders whom I am one of, we have 5 guys and a group who we check on during the week, see if they have any prayer requests...then once a week we meet with our guys (Tuesday night) and share with them a time in which I may share a message, watch something, just be guys...good times...Prayer Leaders also meet up with the Hall leadership on Monday nights and then on Wed. we have to go to a Prayer Leader Class in which we are taught different Spiritual truths...

Ok, so, as some of you may know, Liberty University is a dating college, so they pair up the dorms...and this year my dorm was paired up with both a Sister Dorm (14) and a Brother Dorm (10) and as you can guess there was some competition to get the Sister Dorm to like our dorm more, blah, blah, blah, but I love a lot of the guys in the brother dorm and our sister dorm is The Bomb! Many times I would get to eat with various ones from the brother or sister dorm at the Reuber Thomas Dining Hall (from now on called the Rot)...The Rot's food is something not totally fulfilling. Once in a while you would get food that really hit the spot, but more times the food just made your stomach hurt, ughhh...oh well, as I mentioned before, I love the people, so I would go to the Rot mainly for the company of my bros and sis's (btw, I call the guys on my hall my Seimese Twins since they are closer than the brother or sister dorm, I know, kinda dumb, oh well, this is my blog so I can write whatever)...I have had many an interesting meal at the Rot from eating with Christa and Natalie and talking about Hypothetical questions, to pretending to stalk Leah, to talking about the time Raymond held a door for a girl and she stopped and said, "You can let the door shut" and he left in a huff, or sitting with Vicky and talking about the fact that I DO live in Northern VA and she saying that you have to have a 703 to live there, or talking to my Cousing Bryan about being from West Virginny, or talking to my brother Leighton about how mom loves me more, or crying when Hannah leaves me to sit with people she loves more ;-) or enjoying Brittany's amazing eyeshadow (rainbows), or sitting with the cousins Sean and Becca and getting a kick out of how paranoid Sean is (barfffffff :-) Or sitting with Ciji and hearing her many stories, or sitting with Adam or Adam or Adam, oh yeah, gotta loved that name!! Love you guys!! Oh man, so many memories, sorry I didnt' write them all out, please don't feel left out...feel free to share!!!

Ok, now about my Theater experiances at LU...So, during the first semester I had the opportunity to be on crew for "Fiddler on the Roof" which was really cool...some people said it was better than the movie and the Broadway!!! Then I had the opportunity to be in a play which a LU approved club called Transformation Theater Company put on called "Girl In the Mirror"...the money we raised went to an organization called To Write Love On Her Arms...Then this semester I was on crew for "Crucible"...I was both on crew and had a small speaking part on a play called "A Doll's House" as well!! Fun Stuff!! LU has some grade A actors and actresses!! Its an amazing Theater Family there!

Then you got all the amazing people I have met all over Liberty in Theater, classes, throught friend, wow!! Love these people, what an amazing family...Know I know why Mr. Fournier loves LU so much ;-)

Well, I guess this is long enough, time to call it quits!! Oh, btw, now I am having my summer break and can't wait to go back to Liberty as a Sophomore and create more memories :-) 

Peru/Argentina 2008 Overview!!!

Well, I got back home from my trip last Saturday (Aug. 2), its taken adjusting, missing friends and the places I've visited, but I am doing well!! I wanted to share some stats and stories from Peru and Argentina...

Peru:

Here's one of my most memorable stories from Peru:

There was a time after I gave the net (altar call) that there was a group that needed prayer. I decided to pray for everyone at the same time. At one point I asked them all to repeat after me a couple of times, "I am healed in the name of Jesus Christ!" Afterwards, I heard that one man who had anxiety that day had been healed, and another woman who had asthma (I believe that was the sickness) was healed. Yes, God heals today, I saw it with my eyes!!!

My team was hanging out at a park playing with kids. My PD (a leader right above me) told me to go talk to a group of young men. So I got my missionary guys and we went over and talked some to them, we then played a game of soccer. Before we left, my guys started to share their faith...there was one guy there that seemed to get it, them he had to leave because he had a sick son. Me and my missionary guys then prayed for these young men we had been sharing with, that they would find Christ...That night we had an amazing dinner at the church we were working with and then went house to house inviting people to come to a church service that evening. When I got back to the church I saw that close to a whole row was being taken up by some of the guys we had played soccer with and some friends of the soccer players that we had shared with. We did the "Ragman" (a drama that depicts Jesus taking various sicknesses upon Himself and dying and being raised from the dead) that night and in spanish I told each of these guys that this message is for them...I watched each of these guys come to Christ this night!!! Praise God, He who began a good work in these young men will be faithful to complete it!!!

Thank you all for your prayer and support this summer! Please continue to pray for me as I come home to a "New" Mission field...Next Wed. (13th)I am actually heading off to Libertry University where I will be studying Drama Ministry (if you know me at all, you know I LOVE TO ACT!!!)... All for the extension of Christs Kingdom!!!

Argentina

Well folks, I have been in Argentina for over a week and I am loving it!! This is actually the first time that Teen Mania has gone to Argentina and the churches we are working with love us!!

We´ve done dramas at plazas and parks and have shared Christ with people in that way. We also helped out at a Camp that had many troubled youth...we shared some of our dramas there, we played sports, helped in the kitchen, etc...Then yesterday we went to a Church camp that was very close to the snow covered Andes Mountains...while there we did some dramas in a plaza, a playground, and a playground and shared Jesus there! That night we presented 4 skits/dramas, our leader was sharing God´s plan for Guy/Girl relationships...

Guys, I am having a BLAST!!! Be ready to hear stories when I come home...Pray for: Energy, Unity, no complaining, and protection...also, please pray that people that we have friendships with will come to Christ, many more will come to Christ, and thart people get healing physically and spiritually!!!!

In Peru once again!!!!

Hey everyone!!!
I have been in Peru since...ummmm, hmmmm, like the 10th or 11th. I first went to Teen Mania´s headquarters where I had some training and then went on to Miami where we met up with all of the missionaries. I am a solo leader of an amazing team of about 16 missionaries. Our team name is FDA (Familia de Amigos) and our Theme is the ¨Big Picture¨(what lasts? you can only bring other people to heaven with you.

Well, for the last 8 days (15-22) we have been in Chincha and Pisco, both hit hard by the earthquake last summer. In Pisco we actually drove past a church in which about 500 people died during the earthquake. We have been doing ministry though dramas, door to door acts of kindness (help prepare meals, remove rocks, etc...), and VBS. Some of the door to door we did was in ¨Refugee Camps¨where people had to move because of the earthquake...I was trying to download some pictures but its taking too long...God Bless, gtg

Tentative Schedule for Peru and Argentina

Hey ya'll, I leave this Friday for training in Garden Valley, TX!! The first month in Peru we will be working alot with the earthquake victims (my co-leader and I will have a Team of about 34). The second month we will do ministry with Teens and others (my co-leader and I will both be going solo with a Team of about 15)...

Please pray for: protection, we will be the leaders He wants us to be, the missionaries will be prepared for ministry, soft hearts among the nationals to recieve the gospel!!

June 9 Head to Lima, Peru to kick off your adventure! Over the next few moments you will meet your leaders and team, train and prepare for ministry, listen to inspiring speakers, and draw closer to God through incredible praise and worship. You’ll be ready to change the world after this amazing time of preparation.

June 10 Upon arrival in country, you’ll meet your Global Partners and learn more about the culture and environment of Peru. During country orientation, you will make new Peruvian friends, learn more specifics about your ministry, and meet your translators.

June 10-14 Continue your training and commissioning with your PDs and TLs in Lima.

June 15 Attend a local Peruvian church and experience God in another culture through dynamic Spanish worship and teaching. You’ll be amazed as you feel God’s presence together with other Christians, even though you might not speak the same language! After church, you will travel to the earthquake affected areas in Pisco or Chincha to help reconstruct the lives of the devastated victims from this natural disaster. You will have the amazing opportunity to work together to build a church for a pastor while doing drama in parks, schools, and markets. cuisine!

June 16-June 21 Begin your effort by providing coats, blankets, food and other disaster relief materials to the families while sharing your testimony and powerful dramas. You will also be working in the church and home building process, and you will get the community involved as they come to watch the progress.

June 22 Enjoy a free day in the city! Visit the famous Incan Markets, and don’t forget to pick up some souvenirs for your supporters along the way!

June 23-June 28 There may be many children coming from all around the community who lost everything some including their parents. Your love and attention will impact their lives as you teach powerful VBS and Bible Studies in the mornings, and visit some drama sites in the afternoon.

June 29 Attend a Peruvian church in the morning, and take the rest of the day to relax and strengthen relationships with local believers. In the evening, head back to the base.

June 30-July 2 See God work powerfully through drama presentations, and continue building relationships with the people who have come to Christ earlier in the week. By this time, you’ll be perfecting your drama ministry, as well as falling into the groove of sharing your faith and testimony with people you don’t even know.

July 3 Travel back to Lima, rest from your excursion. You’ll hear a powerful message from your Project Directors during the evening service.

July 4 Enjoy one more fun-filled free day in Lima at the Incan Market and ship mall. Eat lunch at an American restaurant (if you’re craving a burger and fries) or go for something more Peruvian. Don’t forget to try the Peruvian ice cream!

July 5-July 6 Friends travel back to Miami, FL while you settle a bit and ready yourself to move out to Argentina for your next month of ministry! Relax in the presence of the Almighty as you begin the move to another great adventure. Discuss with team leaders what you've accomplished and what you look to accomplish in the next part of God's plan.

July 7 Upon arrival in country, you’ll meet your Global Partners and learn more about the culture and environment of Argentina. During country orientation, you will make new Argentine friends, learn more specifics about your ministry, and meet your translators.

July 12-July 19 Extend your hand and through a social outreaches show the love of Christ. You’ll be amaze to see how far your hand can reach while providing food, clothing, and blanket to the poor in the areas of Mendoza, Argentina.

July 20 Worship God and celebrate His Word in a local Argentine church. Meet the church family that you will work with for the next few weeks. After church in the morning, you will eat lunch with your team and have a few hours of free time.

July 21-July 28 In the mornings you will work with poverty stricken children at a Kids day camp, followed by VBS the afternoon. Throughout the week, you will have some opportunities to do Social work outreaches to families in a local community.

July 29 Today is your last day of ministry! You will spend one last day doing outreach to hurting children and families. Today you will close out VBS and Camp with the children. Take some photos and share your experiences with other team mates.

July 30 You will spend the day shopping, taking a tour around the beautiful Andes Mountains, and simply enjoying the scenery of Argentina. In the evening, you will visit an Argentine Gaucho Ranch and eat an asado dinner!

July 31 You will spend the day shopping, taking a tour around the beautiful Andes Mountains, and simply enjoying the scenery of Argentina. In the evening, you will visit an Argentine Gaucho Ranch and eat an asado dinner!

August 1 Spend a day in country, debriefing with your team, as you prepare to return home, learn to how to take with you what you have experienced on and off the mission field.

August 2 Depart Argentina and make your way back to Miami, FL to fly home! Get ready to share all the amazing experiences you had this summer! Make sure you exchanged addresses with all your new friends because it’s time to say goodbye. You have learned an extraordinary amount about the culture you have just experienced and you have brought the gospel to many people. Take it home and tell your family, friends, church, and school!!!
